The Escamilla brothers are coming to the WCRR!
The Escamilla brothers – born in Juárez, México – have become known, as the world’s best when it comes to floreadores de reata, or trick roping.
The Escamillas have appeared on television and in movies and have performed from México to Holland to China to Africa and places in between. They have even appeared with the late pianist Liberace.
It was in 1975 when the Escamilla family moved to México City that the sons began to perform in Plaza. Garibaldi. Later, the sons made appearances on the television programs “Siempre en Domingo,” “Alegrías del Medio Día! And “En Vivo con el Sr. Ricardo Rocha,” They were even invited to perform in some movies. The Escamilla brothers have accompanied mariachis like Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, Mariachi Sol de México, Mariachi América and Mariachi 2000. They have performed for noted personalities like President George Bush, Queen Beatriz of Holland, and the king of Saudi Arabia and former Russian president Mikhael Gorbachev.
The trick ropers have also formed part of the world famous Ballet Folklórico de Amalia. Hernández. They performed with the Ballet Company for eight consecutive years.
