trained mustang Pancho kept the crowd applauding with their amazing partnership.
Eric Bohl of the Lazy B Ranch rides Bar B My Faith Dunit in the team penning. His team got the
night’s best time of 41.48 seconds.
The Spires Land and Cattle team penned their calves in 80.37 seconds Thursday night.
Buster Frierson of the Veale Ranch & Triangle Ranch team, center, displayed some tack of a
different kind, riding Whistle Berries Box in a war bridle. The horse is sired by performance sire Snack
Box and is owned by Buster.
Clay Forgey of the Beatty Canyon Ranch & Flying A Ranch team rides Wintheshowboy in the stray
gathering event. Despite a good effort, the team ended with a no time.
Last year’s top hand, Jack Mitchell of the Crutch Ranch, presented the American flag to a
standing ovation.
Each rodeo performance is preceded by a prayer. On Thursday night, cowboy poet and musician
Chuck Milner asked for safety for all participants.
