Her pure voice and haunting melodies echo the folk and cowboy music she listened to in childhood. The Taussig family was featured in the February 2016 issue of Western Horseman and again in a January 2019 New York Times Business section photo essay, “Female Ranchers Are Reclaiming the American West.”

Caitlyn’s debut album, “The Things We Gave Up” was released in January 2015.

In 2025, Carin won the Troubadour Songwriting Contest sponsored by Planet Bluegrass. She performs as a solo artist and also plays lead guitar and tours with Michael Martin Murphey. She has performed at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and has opened for artists including Clint Black, Sawyer Brown and Lynn Anderson.

Carin began her career playing Western music and has carried that influence into her own style. She strives to keep authenticity at the heart of both her performances and songwriting.

For 22 years he was a featured performer at the Chuck Wagon Gathering, Cowboy Hall and Western Heritage Museum, Oklahoma City Oklahoma.

He has been involved with the music at the WRCA WCRR Finals for all 26 years, and has been involved as the AISD Kids Camp Coordinator for 25 years. He is also a former committee member for the Panhandle Classic WRCA Rodeo in Gruver, Texas.

He is a former Artist-in-Residence, for the Oklahoma State Arts Council. He has also done work for the Mid-America Arts Council and the National Council for Traditional Arts.

He rode horses, pushed cattle, and got shot a lot in the 1993 film Tombstone.

His songs have been recorded by Red Steagall, the Burson Family, Jean Prescott, and others. He and his wife Beth have two children, Hallie and Cody who were raised on Rush Creek near Reydon Oklahoma. There they operate an Angus cow/calf operation. He enjoys team roping although he’s still not very good.

In 2001 Chuck received the Will Rogers Award for Western Music Song of the Year, by the Academy of Western Artists, for his song Doan’s Crossing. In 2003 they received a Centennial Ranch award for their Smoot-Hood Ranch in Greer County, having been owned and operated by Beth and her family since 1901.

In 2005 Chuck was honored with the Heritage Award from The Texas Cowboy Poetry Committee, Alpine Texas. He is featured in the 2016 book, The Real Singing Cowboys

He was named Male Vocalist of the Year in Cowboy Music by the Academy of Western Artists in 1997 and received a lifetime achievement award for Western music from the American Cowboy Culture Association in 2005. He has also produced and acted in television and appeared in films, most notably The Good Old Boys and Nail 32.

In spite of these and other accomplishments, he is proudest when he is asked to ride out with a crew of cowboys at the wagon on ranches from Texas to Idaho.

Jeff and his wife of more than 38 years, Donna, have two daughters who live with their husbands in Abilene and five grandsons. Jeff grew up working on ranches and still does, living out and singing about the cowboy life.

A multiple-time nominee for awards from the Western Writers of America, Academy of Western Artists and International Western Music Association, Joel has also earned several honors for his songwriting. His song “Once I Was a Cowboy” was named the Academy of Western Artists’ Song of the Year in 2023, while “Roads & Barbwire” earned a 2026 Spur Award. “Roads & Barbwire” also received a 2026 Will Rogers Medallion for Western Song, and “5 AM” received a 2026 Will Rogers Medallion for Cowboy Song.

As an actor, Joel has appeared in the film “Down the Arm of God,” as a recurring background actor portraying a Staten Ranch cowboy in the Netflix series “Ransom Canyon,” in several music videos and commercials, and in the Yellowstone series “Dutton Ranch.”

Matt found a love for riding bucking horses at a young age, sparking a career that took him through high school and the PRCA and into ranch bronc riding until recent years. As a young teen, Matt started writing songs and learned to play guitar, influenced by his heroes Chris LeDoux and Ian Tyson.

Today, Matt’s discography includes nine albums of original songs, and he is a mainstay at events such as the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada. Matt’s life has taken him from Alberta to Arizona, starting colts, cowboying and playing music.

He has performed at the National Cowboy Symposium & Celebration in Lubbock, Texas; the Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium in Ruidoso, New Mexico; and the Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering in Fort Worth, Texas. He has also led praise and worship at various churches.

His latest CD, Keeping the Western Way and Ridin’ the Range With You, reflects his longtime connection to Western life. He has been involved with horses throughout his life and has also worked with his family’s small cow-calf operation and with cutting horses.
