Titan Fuel Tanks Ranch Team of the Week: Stock Ranch / Felt Ranch
The Stock Ranch/ Felt Ranch team has been named the Titan Fuel Tanks Ranch Team of the Week after walking away with the first-place overall position at the 2018 Hi-Lo Country Ranch Rodeo, held in Kim, Colorado, May 5.
They came out on top over second-place Jolly Ranch/S&L Cattle Co. by just a point and a half.
It was a point and a half well earned.
The team—Kolby Stock, Coy Hyer, Klara Stock, Troy Felt, and Marshall Hyer—had a great showing, winning the milking, taking second in the branding, and bringing in solid scores in doctoring and sorting.
With the win at Kim under their belts, the crew is excited to head down to Amarillo come November and is relishing in the opportunity to have a little more fun at some ranch rodeos now that the pressure is off.
“It scratches that competitive itch but it does change the dynamics ’cause we’re just having a lot of fun right now!” says Kolby Stock.
Stock credits the win to good luck, a good team, and the support of family.
As it frequently goes, family and teammates are often one and the same, and Stock’s daughter Klara recently jumped on the team card, running the branding irons.
“She is very in tuned with her job and somewhat of a perfectionist and that’s neat to see,” says Stock. “You hear as a youngster the joys you’ll have watching your children do things, and you never understand that ’til you get a chance to experience it yourself.”
More than anything, says Stock, it’s important to enjoy what you’re doing, and the people you’re doing it with.
He says, “If it wasn’t fun to get in the truck and go, it doesn’t matter what happens at the rodeo… It’s pretty cool to be around a bunch of guys who want to work and have fun.”
He adds, “And of course try to win a little bit, because that makes it even more fun!”
