We’re Hiring: WRCA Foundation Development Director

BASIC FUNCTION:

Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan for the WRCA Foundation. Coordinate specific responsibilities listed below and be willing to assist on any project as needed. Be a team player, contribute to a positive work environment and help advance the missions of the WRCA Foundation and WRCA. This is an in-person, on-site role based in Amarillo, Texas.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan

  • Include all aspects of fundraising, to include but limited to major gifts, corporate giving, foundation giving, grants, endowments, planned gifts, and special events
  • Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors
  • Plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization
  • Attend/participate in online or in person trainings for continued education on best fundraising

Develop effective donor facing communications

  • Create compelling messaging that resonates with current and potential donors
  • Create targeted appeals that drive donor engagement
  • Create donor recognition programs to enhance donor experience

Embrace and fully utilize Raiser’s Edge CRM tool (RENXT)

  • Immerse yourself in this tool and help ensure the Foundation is using it to its full benefit
  • Use the tool to monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed (i.e. track donor engagement, retention rates, analyze appeal revenue generation performance)
  • Learn new methods to mine donor data and to use the tool for effective donor management
  • Be a knowledge expert and assist other staff with new methods where appropriate

Manage a Team of Fundraising Volunteers and/or Professionals

  • Organize existing and recruit new volunteers to assist in advancing our mission
  • Provide guidance, training, and support as needed to meet goals and expectations

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with Association and Foundation projects assigned by the Executive Director. Attend and represent the organization at events as needed.

INTERNAL RELATIONS:

Report to Executive Director. Work closely with Foundation Manager to ensure all Foundation activities are consistent with our mission. Work with Marketing Manager on relative projects to ensure effective and consistent messaging. Work with Project Coordinator on relative projects as needed.

EXTERNAL RELATIONS:

Work closely with WRCA Foundation board of directors to develop strategies and goals. Will handle daily contact via phone, email or social media with current/prospective donors and other constituents.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Outstanding knowledge and experience in fundraising
  • Confident, self-starter with skill to create and implement strategic objectives
  • Ability to raise funds for foundation programs / goals
  • Excellent people skills
  • Confident in communication and public relation skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong aptitude to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently, making judgements and solving problems, while also being a team player
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of all Microsoft applications and able to learn new systems
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Capacity to organize projects and be accountable for the completion of those projects
  • Able to travel during the week or weekends
  • Multi-taking ability

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience; or equivalent of education and experience.

  • Amarillo, Texas
  • On-site requirement: This position must be performed in person.
