Mrs. Pat Fitzgerald Elected Chairman of the WRCA Foundation

The WRCA Foundation board of directors recently elected Mrs. Pat Fitzgerald as its new chairman. Fitzgerald and her husband Mike have ranched in Northeast New Mexico for 35 years and have two children—son Troy and daughter Tamara.

“Pat has served on the Foundation board for 15 years. She and her family are cattle ranchers and that helps guide her decisions,” says Gary Morton, the board’s outgoing chairman. “Pat served as my vice-chairman for more than six years. I am excited for the future of the Foundation under her leadership.”

Before coming to New Mexico, the Fitzgeralds ranched in Arizona where they were both raised. Pat attended Arizona State University and plays an essential role in the success of F & F Cattle Company, the family ranching operation.

Pat explains that when a new crisis is brought to the board or when awarding scholarships, she looks back at the years ranching and fondly recounts the numerous cowboys she’s worked with over the decades. She says her service on the board has been a way to give back to the community by helping cowboys who devote their lives and the lives of their families to working ranches.

“When I first was asked to be on the WRCA Foundation board 14 years ago by Ginny Cates—one of the foundation’s founding members—I was very honored,” Pat says. “I am honored once again to serve as Chairman.”

Other elected WRCA Foundation officers include:
Ross Middleton, Vice-Chairman from Amarillo, Texas
Randy Whipple, Secretary/Treasurer from Amarillo, Texas
Gary Morton, Past Chairman from Sapello, New Mexico
